Missing Toddler's Body Found; Family Friend Held
Kyle Parker, 22.   (Owen County Jail)

Police have found the body of a 1-year-old girl 36 hours after she was reported missing from her father's Indiana home. Police made the discovery in Gosport, near the White River, just after 6pm Thursday and have charged Kyle Parker, 22, with obstruction of justice, unlawful disposal of a body, and failure to report a body, reports the Indianapolis Star. The girl's father, Justin Ammerman, says his mother put 14-month-old Shaylyn down to sleep in the home they share on Tuesday evening, per CBS4 and WRTV. Ammerman's mom tells WTHR she checked on Shaylyn before midnight, but she was missing the next morning.

The investigation is still in the early stages. Ammerman has said that Parker was at his home the night Shaylyn disappeared, but police don't have a clear timeline yet of when she was taken and killed. "Burn in hell, Kyle Parker," said Ammerman. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine how she died. "Please don't feel like because we've found a body and we've made an arrest that this case is anywhere near over," a police rep tells CBS4. "This case is just getting started."
