Move over, mac and cheese kid, there may be a new contender for America's Most Obnoxious Student: University of Michigan student Jake Croman is being investigated by the university and his fraternity for an expletive-filled rant against a Uber driver last week, reports the Detroit Free Press. In a video that has been viewed more than 500,000 times, driver Artur Zawada filmed the Tau Kappa Epsilon member, one of a group of jeering students outside his car, swearing and using homophobic slurs before delivering the parting shot: "You're working all day? Guess what? I'm going to sit on my ass and watch TV. F you." Zawada says he has been harassed by Croman and his friends before and was abused after refusing to let them in his car again.

Croman is the son of real estate developer Steven Croman, described by the New York Daily News as "one of New York City's most reviled landlords." A university spokesperson tells BuzzFeed that the institution is "extremely disappointed in the behavior depicted in this video" and spoke to both the students and the driver before referring the matter to police. In a statement, Tau Kappa Epsilon said it is investigating the incident and is "extremely disappointed by the individual's demeaning words." In a statement of his own, Croman, who is Jewish, claimed the argument only happened after the driver made a "number of offensive anti-Semitic remarks that provoked my response."
