Cops: NY Mayor Stole 111 Road Signs
Frank Moracco   (CNYCentral.com)

The mayor of an upstate New York town has been busted for pilfering 111 road signs from the New York State DOT and using them in his own town, CNYCentral.com and the AP report. Frank Moracco, 60, who serves as the mayor of the village of Frankfort, was arrested and charged with the misdemeanors of petit larceny and official misconduct after being accused by New York State Police of lifting the road signs and passing them onto Frankfort's streets department.

The investigation looking into his actions has been active since July and turned up that Moracco is also a sign shop foreman in the state DOT office in Herkimer. Moracco is set to appear in court on May 3. The village clerk tells the Utica Observer-Dispatch that Moracco will stay on as mayor. (More weird crimes stories.)
