They're Just Not That Into You

Posted Mar 24, 08 8:52 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – The Clinton-Obama slugfest resembles the “drawn-out and painful break-up of a relationship,' Michael Tomasky writes in the Guardian—and the sparring couple might be on its last rounds. "Mark down May 7," he suggests. "That's the date by which Clinton should be one of two things: a, the possible nominee after all; or, b, out of the race."

Rather than joining the chorus urging Clinton to call it quits, Tomasky sketches out a best-case scenario that involves sweeping Pennsylvania, Indiana, and North Carolina. "Clinton's only remaining argument is to win all three of these states—and to win them big," he argues. "Any outcome short of that makes Obama the nominee."
