Fla. Crane Crash Kills 2, Injures 4

Posted Mar 25, 08 4:32 PM CDT in US

(Newser) – Part of a construction crane crashed into a building next to a Miami construction site this afternoon, killing two and injuring at least four, the Miami Herald reports. Workers on an unfinished 46-story luxury condo were raising an extension to connect it with the crane when the extension came loose and fell into a nearby house being used as a construction company office.

''I watched it go through the roof,'' said one construction worker. "It was a disaster.'' ''All the windows were blown out,'' said another worker. Both victims were employees of the construction company. Police said they were not sure everyone trapped under the rubble has been recovered and were combing the site with the help of search dogs.
