It's 'Professor Angelina Jolie'

When academia goes Hollywood: Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is apparently chairman of the board of a business school, and now Angelina Jolie is a "visiting professor in practice." But in the case of Jolie, it's no slouch of a school: She'll soon teach a course at the London School of Economics. It's part of a new one-year Masters of Science in Women, Peace, and Security; the Guardian reports the UNHCR goodwill ambassador/special envoy's course will focus on the effects of war on women. The New York Times notes no specifics were given regarding how often Jolie would be on campus or what her responsibilities would be, but in general, visiting professors give guest lectures, participate in workshops, and do work of their own.

In a release put out by the school, the actress says, "I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations." The release notes that the "in practice" title is bestowed on "persons who have appropriate distinction within their area of (non-academic) practice." It's perhaps not too surprising that she got the gig: The program falls under the auspices of the LSE's Centre for Women, Peace, and Security, which "was launched in February 2015 by The Lord Hague [also a visiting professor] and Ms. Jolie Pitt in their capacities as co-founders of the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative."
