(NEWSER) - ESPN apologized today for some badly chosen words in the wake of Jeremy Lin's first loss as a New York Knick: A headline on its mobile site read "Chink in the armor" for about a half-hour before getting yanked, reports Outsports.com . A network statement called the headline "offensive" and promised a "complete review" of how it came to be. It didn't say whether the double entendre was intentional, but concluded, "We regret and apologize for this mistake." More»

(NEWSER) - Wedding bells are ringing for what seems like all of Hollywood. The latest:

• Drew Barrymore got engaged over the holidays to art consultant Will Kopelman, whom she has been linked to for almost a year, People and E! report. The couple was on vacation in Sun Valley, Idaho, when Kopelman popped the question with a nearly-4-carat Graff diamond ring. This will be the third marriage for Barrymore; her rep has not yet officially confirmed the engagement, but Us has what it calls an official engagement photo.

ESPN video camera nearly creams Iowa receiver

(NEWSER) - It wasn't exactly a Kodak moment. An ESPN sky camera came crashing down to nearly cream a college football player during the weekend Insight Bowl. Iowa Hawkeyes receiver Martin McNutt Jr. dodged the heavy video camera but briefly became entangled in the rig's guide wire. He wasn't hurt, reports ABC News . “First, I looked: What is it that fell from the sky?” McNutt said after Iowa’s 31-14 loss to Oklahoma. “The next thing I know, the camera scratched me. It was pulling me, and I knew I didn’t want to keep going with it." He joked: “I felt like somebody was trying to kill me on Oklahoma’s side," then added seriously: "It was lucky it didn't hit me." (NEWSER) - Chalk up another celeb who's made good on a YouTube promise: Not to be outdone by Friends With Benefits co-star Justin Timberlake , Mila Kunis has hit her own Marine Corps ball. The actress accompanied Sgt. Scott Moore— who cheekily invited her in a YouTube video that went viral —to the gala in Greenville, NC, on Friday night. “She’s going to get a chance to learn about the Marine Corps and were all going to have a great time celebrating the Marine Corps birthday,” a Marines spokesman told Eyewitness News 9 .
