(Newser) – In yet another example of the Internet democratizing the music industry, Weezer's frontman is using YouTube to get some help writing a new song. Rivers Cuomo is broadcasting himself (don't miss the campy moustache) in a series he's dubbed "Let's Write a Sawng." His latest dispatch asks fans to "come up with some chords yo," Pitchfork Media reports.

Before that, Cuomo got viewers to help him with the song's attitude—poppy but tough—and title: "80's Radio." That beat "Showdown in Candyland" and "Big and Bouncy." His LA-based indie rock band is set to release an album in June, but, alas, the YouTube project isn't likely to make it into the mix.
