YouTube to Co-Host Debate

Posted May 17, 07 4:32 PM CDT in US Politics Business Arts & Living

(Newser) – YouTube, the viral-video nemesis of many a gaffe-prone political candidate, will co-sponsor a Democratic presidential debate July 23rd in Charleston, South Carolina. CNN is the television partner for the debate, which will be the first of six, the DNC announced yesterday.

In what is turning out to be the most digital election in history, the DNC is looking for "creative, inventive ways to engage voters." Especially young voters. The move is aimed to brand the Democrats as the youth party, observers note, although previous attempts to attract what used to be known as "the MTV vote" have never reached expectations.
