Spurs Notch 50th Win, Extend Streak to Six

(Newser) – It took one inspired  Manu Ginobili performance to propel the Spurs from fifth place to second in the Western Conference, the AP reports.  Ginobili broke open in the fourth quarter last night, scoring 16 of his 26 points and thwarting a Minnesota comeback. The 99-84 victory marks San Antonio's 50th of the season, and sixth straight. Elsewhere in the NBA:

  • Despite losing two starters to a stomach bug and a third to injury minutes into the game, Utah had more than enough offensive juice to dispatch the woeful Clippers, 121-101. Carlos Boozer posted a game best 34 points, a mark nearly matched by teammate Deron Williams' 32. the Jazz have taken three straight games, and four of their last five.
