Parents Abandon Toddler to Catch Pokemon: Cops
Brent Daley, 27, and Brianne Daley, 25.   (Pinal County Jail)

When not falling off cliffs or making illegal border crossings, people are allegedly abandoning their kids in search of Pokemon. Arizona police say Brent Daley, 27, and Brianne Daley, 25, left their 2-year-old son home alone for at least 90 minutes on Thursday night while playing Pokemon Go, reports Tucson News Now. Authorities say a neighbor called 911 when she found the boy—wearing only a T-shirt and diaper—outside his San Tan Valley home in 96-degree weather without any water. Police say responding officers found the screaming toddler "red faced, sweaty, and dirty," and trying to get into the unlocked house around 10:30pm, reports NBC News.

When police called Brent Daley to tell him what happened, Daley allegedly said, "Whatever," and hung up. The parents returned home an hour after police first arrived, saying they had gone to fill up their car with gas while the boy slept, police say. However, they later admitted to driving around town, "stopping at parks and other places to interact with the game," SanTanValley.com reports Sheriff Paul Babeu as saying. "This goes beyond comprehension." Both were booked into Pinal County Jail on charges of child endangerment and neglect. Their son is now in the custody of the Department of Child Services.
