Huet Pays Dividends Again for Capitals

(Newser) – Trading for Cristobal Huet paid off again for the Washington Capitals tonight, reports the Associated Press. Huet recorded his second shutout for the Caps and 17th of his career by blanking the Florida Panthers, 4-0, making 32 saves. It was Huet's fourth shutout of the season. Viktor Kozlov had a goal and two assists as the Caps won for the eighth time in nine games. In other NHL action:

  • The Philadelphia Flyers rallied twice in the third period and then got a shootout goal by Daniel Briere for a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs got two goals apiece from rookies Anton Stralman and Jiri Tlusty as they beat the Montreal Canadiens, 4-2. Nik Antropov  also had three assists for the Leafs.
