Vacation Nightmare? 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week

From a worst best man to a real estate agent who was allegedly a little more real eXXXtate, here are the weird crimes of the week:

  • Best Man's Bachelor Party Turns Out to Be 'Nastiest' Scam: Before Dino Carter even proposed to his girlfriend, he asked Martyn Galvin to be the best man at his wedding. Galvin repaid his pal of 18 years by setting up the bachelor party, collecting money from the groom and his friends for a big bash in Prague and a horse-racing outing in York—then not coming anywhere close to delivering.
  • Teen Peeved With Parents' Vacation Choice Calls 911: Is Trent Hills, Ontario, really that bad? A 15-year-old girl “forced” to go to the Canadian vacation spot by her parents last week apparently thought so—and called 911 with her emergency. Police who responded to the cottage the family rented were not amused. Here's what they had to say.

  • Cops: Real Estate Agent Did the Deed in Home She Sold: Before the new owner of a home in Friendswood, Texas, could even hook up the appliances, an entirely different kind of hookup apparently took place inside. At least, that's how it appears after the real estate agent who sold the property was arrested for allegedly having sex inside the home the day after the closing. Kayla Marisa Seloff, 22, allegedly told police this story before they say she ultimately confessed.
  • Man Upset at Tree for Ruining His Car Makes It Much Worse: Five people are homeless after a man's afternoon of aggressive pruning went awry. Raymond Mazzarella of Pennsylvania was upset because sap from the branches of his neighbor's tree was dripping onto his car. So he decided to take a chainsaw to the tree's 3-foot-wide trunk. "Where he thought it was going to go, I don't know," a code enforcement officer says.
  • Police: Teacher Faked Attack on Himself for Some Reason: A Washington state high school teacher who claimed he was attacked in his classroom last May admitted Thursday he made the whole thing up. Bothell High School shop teacher Calvin Pygott, 63, was found by a fellow teacher in the hall outside his classroom. He claimed he had been knocked unconscious from behind and woke up covered in blood with a head wound and a zip-tie around his neck. Police say there were holes in Pygott's story from the beginning.
