The Telegraph has the story of a very good dog in Spain who is waiting patiently outside a hospital while her owner recovers from emergency appendix surgery inside. As of Friday, Maya the 2-year-old Akita Inu had been sitting outside the hospital's doors for six days. Her owner's father, Andrés Iniesta, tried to take her away, but she wasn't having it. “I think she knows what is happening and she is showing that she can be patient,” says Iniesta, who describes Maya as a "fully paid-up member of the family." Sandra Iniesta, 22, says Maya always does this whenever she goes in anywhere; it's just usually not for days on end.
