(Newser) – Tony Gwynn Jr.'s 10th-inning sacrifice fly scored Craig Counsell to give Milwaukee a 4-3 win at Wrigley. Kosuke Fukudome, the Cubs' big acquisition this winter, went 3-for-3, including a tying, three-run homer in the ninth off Eric Gagne, reports the Sun-Times. Meanwhile, Kerry Wood failed in his debut as Cubs'  closer, allowing three ninth-inning runs and spoiling Carlos Zambrano's scoreless outing. Elsewhere:

  • Washington lit up reliever Tom Gordon for five runs in the ninth inning as Nick Johnson, Ronnie Belliard and Dmitri Young each hit RBI doubles in the frame. Lastings Milledge scored three times for the 2-0 Nats.
  • Brandon Webb outdueled Aaron Harang over six innings and Arizona's bullpen tossed three shutout innings in a 4-2 victory at Cincinnati.
