Thief Nabs Tiny Croc From Norway Aquarium

(Newser) – A thief has managed to walk out of a Norwegian aquarium with a croc stuffed in a bag, Reuters reports. The 2.3-foot long Schneider's dwarf caiman named "Taggen" was spirited away sometime over the weekend while the aquarium was busy. Police are investigating, and a $5,000 reward is being offered for help finding the animal.

The kidnapped reptile is among the smallest of its species, but could still prove a handful for the thief. "It has a solid bite," warned the aquarium director. "You could lose a few fingers— but no vital organs." Taggen could fetch big money on the black market, but the director believes that the stolen caiman is likely to die soon from stress due to the sudden change in environment.
