(Newser) – Hillary Clinton compared herself to Rocky Balboa today, saying “I know what it means to get knocked down. But I've never stayed down, and I never will." Even as the RNC issued a reminder of Sylvester Stallone's fondness for John McCain, bloggers raced to weigh in:

"Let's hope for her sake they don't have too much in common," blogs Daniel Nasaw of the Guardian, after the obligatory observation that Rocky lost.

Below the Beltway’s Doug Mataconis enshrines today's claims as "perhaps the most absurd analogies of all time."
Wonkette's Sara K. Smith plays the fashion angle: "We look forward to seeing her run up the steps of the Museum of Art in an unflattering gray jersey pantsuit."

(NEWSER) - Bradley Manning's preliminary hearing is set to begin Dec. 16, and if the US Army private has his way, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will be among the witnesses. The president and the secretary of state were included on a 20-page list of defense witnesses in a request made Friday, Politico reports.
