Both candidates dodged a bullet on Monday night in that the first gaffe of the 2016 presidential debates was made by ... neither of them. Host Hofstra University committed the goof, by way of "last-minute" souvenir tickets it printed for the 350 of its students who managed to get a seat (that's fewer than 5% of the students who entered a lottery for a slot). The tickets list the candidates as Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. Yes, there's an L missing (image here). NBC New York talked to two people who explained they were the "tickets to get the actual ticket," and Hofstra says it will be reprinting the memento. (More presidential debate stories.)
