Stojakovic Plays Hero for Hornets in Orlando

Posted Apr 1, 08 11:27 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Sweet-shooting forward Peja Stojakovic had six points in the final minute to lead the Hornets past the Magic, 98-97. After star point guard Chris Paul missed two free throws with six seconds left, Orlando had a chance to win, but Keyon Dooling misfired on a would-be buzzer-beater. Also in pro basketball:

  • The 76ers notched their 20th win in 27 games after Lou Williams took over late, scoring seven straight points as New Jersey tumbled, 108-99
  • Down 11 entering the fourth quarter, the Bucks surged back to beat the Knicks in overtime, 119-115. Michael Redd had a game-high 36 points.
