Boston Show Tries Out Imus Sidekick

Posted May 18, 07 8:56 PM CDT in US Business Arts & Living

(Newser) – Don Imus's old sidekick Bernard McGuirk will audition live next week to be the co-host of "Finneran's Forum," a morning political talk show on Boston's WRKO. McGuirk set off last month's controversy by calling the Rutgers womens' basketball team "hard-core hos." But his potential future co-host, Tom Finneran, is confident there won't be a reprise.

The term, he assures the Boston Globe,  "will be definitely off limits." CBS fired McGuirk along with Imus after the on-air scandal, but he could quickly rebound if he tests well on next week's shows. "It's about personality," said a station official. "Bernard's got incredible personality." Not all Bostonians are forgiving. "It's really a shame that Imus's enabler is getting a shot," said a journalism professor.
