MLB.TV a Flop on Season's First Days

(Newser) – A Major League Baseball Internet service intended to provide high-quality game broadcasts has been dogged by technical issues over the first two days of the season, provoking the ire of fans unable to view games they paid for, PC World reports. MLB.TV did not even have its new Mosaic media player available until around 4:00pm EST on opening day—the first six games started between 1:05pm and 3:05pm.

The problems continued into Tuesday night, leading MLB to completely disable the Mosaic player minutes before the first games started at 7:00pm. The media player, which MLB had promised would provide premium subscribers “TV-quality” picture, was unavailable for the next three hours and unreliable after that. MLB.TV's premium subscription costs $19.95 per month.
