Salma Hayek claims Donald Trump once filed a malicious tabloid rumor about her after she refused to go out with him, BuzzFeed reports. Hayek—who E! Online notes has been refusing to say Trump's name since at least 2015—told the story Friday on a Spanish-language radio station in Los Angeles as a reason she believes the allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Trump. “When I met that man, I had a boyfriend, and he tried to become his friend to get my home telephone number,” Hayek said. She said she told him she "wouldn't go out with him even if I didn't have a boyfriend." Shortly after, a story appeared in the National Enquirer stating that Trump wouldn't date Hayek because she was too short for him.

"Whatever he wants to come out comes out in the National Enquirer," Hayek said. After the story ran, she said Trump called her again and told her how awful it was that someone would say that about her and that he didn't want people to think that. “He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn’t think that’s why he wouldn’t go out with me," she said. BuzzFeed notes that in 2008 Trump used Trump Foundation money to buy a $120,000 luxury trip that included a dinner with Hayek. He never went. Hayek went on in Friday's interview to draw attention to Trump's claim that if Mexico won't pay for the wall, he will stop the money Mexican-Americans send back to their families in Mexico, Mediaite reports. "That's gravely serious," she said. (More Salma Hayek stories.)
