(Newser) – On Wednesday morning, a Bernie Sanders adviser said the Vermont senator's campaign had "nothing polite to say" about Donald Trump's Election Day upset, per Talking Points Memo. But a statement released by Sanders later that day, which NBC News notes didn't offer congrats, softened that stance—somewhat. "To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him," Sanders acquiesced. But it doesn't appear the former Democratic presidential candidate, who had campaigned for Trump rival Hillary Clinton, is overly optimistic about Trump's time in the White House, adding: "To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic, and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him." (Meanwhile, Michael Moore has a message for "shocked Democrats.")
