Not-So-New Kids Back on the Block

Iconic 1990s boy band announces reunion

Share

(Newser) – To a familiar chorus of shrieking, onetime superstar boy band New Kids on the Block appeared from behind a curtain and made it official this morning on the Today show: They're back. The now-30something teen idols confirmed rampant reunion rumors and said they've been working on a new album since August and plan a world tour, MSNBC reports.

The tour, which will feature new and old material, kicks off with their first performance in 14 years May 16 on Today. “We’re going to dance, we’re going to sing, we’re going to do it all,” said Donnie Wahlberg. And the New Kids' name won’t change, says Danny Wood: “We’re all kids at heart.”
