Mike Jacobs homered off reliever Franquelis Osoria leading off the ninth to give the Florida Marlins a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night. Jacobs went 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Josh Willingham homered and Hanley Ramirez had three hits for Florida. Kevin Gregg (1-0) pitched one scoreless inning for the win.

The Marlins have won two of their first four games, and both of the wins have come on walk-off homers. Pittsburgh's Matt Morris allowed four runs--three earned--and eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts in five innings. Florida's Scott Olsen gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings. He struck out five and walked two. (More baseball stories.)
