Jay-Z and Beyoncé Tie the Knot

Posted Apr 5, 08 7:54 AM CDT in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – Beyoncé and Jay-Z got married last night, People reports, in a small ceremony followed by a lavish party for about 30 at the rapper’s Tribeca penthouse. “Jay wanted it to be a really private affair—friends and family,” a source tells People. For the do, the roof was topped with a tent and the loft decorated with 50,000 orchids shipped from Thailand.

Guests included former Destiny’s Child members, Beyoncé’s family, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. Word of a wedding surfaced earlier this week when the couple picked up a marriage license. The rapper, 38, and pop star, 26, kept their relationship of 6 years quiet, though they were often photographed together.
