He thinks Kansas ("more firepower") will be the ultimate champ by beating Ohio State in the final game. Obama also picked the Jayhawks to win last year, but Duke triumphed. CBS re-ups with new 14-year contract

(NEWSER) - March Madness will be just a wee bit madder next year, expanding from 65 teams to 68, the NCAA announced today. Essentially there will be three extra early “play-in” games, ESPN explains. There had been talk of expanding the tournament to as many as 96 teams and engulfing the NIT, but the committee unanimously passed the 68-team proposal instead. More»

Jennifer Hudson to sing 'One Shining Moment'

(NEWSER) - Sports fans will get a chance to watch the NCAA Final Four in 3D as CBS attempts to gauge interest in the extra dimension. It won't be 3D TV—fans must go to movie theaters to view a live broadcast of the games. About 100 theaters nationwide are expected to participate. CBS Sports head Sean McManus says he has "no prediction about how prevalent 3D" will become in sports broadcasting. More»

(NEWSER) - Louisville, UNC, Oklahoma, and Michigan are all headed to the Elite Eight after an occasionally ugly night of basketball. Here’s how it went down:

• In a night of lopsided victories, no one dominated more than Louisville. The Cardinals demolished Arizona 103-64, one of the most crushing blowouts the Sweet 16’s ever seen.
• UNC didn’t have much more trouble dispatching Gonzaga. A 17-point first half from Ty Lawson helped lead the Tar Heels over the Zags, 98-77.
