Free marijuana will be handed out in Washington, DC, on Inauguration Day—but not in an attempt to mellow out the Rockettes. The DC Cannabis Coalition will give out 4,200 free joints on Jan. 20 to spread the message that "it's time to legalize cannabis at the federal level," pro-pot DC activist Adam Eidinger tells USA Today. The group plans to light the joints with supporters at the National Mall precisely 4 minutes and 20 seconds into President Trump's speech—"unless President Trump comes out now in support of full cannabis legalization in all 50 States and DC," according to a post on its website.

Though possessing two ounces or less of recreational marijuana is legal in DC (growing or gifting it is fine; buying it is a no-no), smoking on federal property—aka the National Mall—is not. Those who want to join in on what Eidinger calls "a form of civil disobedience" can get a joint beginning at 8am on DuPont Circle's west side. (Some 200,000 people are expected at a protest near the Capitol.)
