Mischa Barton was willingly taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation Thursday morning after cops were called to her West Hollywood home about a possible suicide risk or overdose, TMZ reports. Sources tell the outlet that the 31-year-old actress had been hanging over her backyard fence making bizarre statements. Per TMZ's sources, she was making David Bowie references and talking about her mom being a witch.

Barton, who was "speaking in coherent statements" when police arrived around 7:15am, agreed to go to a hospital, reports People. It notes that Barton had celebrated her birthday the night prior in LA with friends. Barton was previously hospitalized in 2009 during what she later said was a "full-on breakdown."
