Lanky lefty gets first win since June

(NEWSER) - Randy Johnson got his first victory since having back surgery in August, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-1 win over San Diego on Friday night. Arizona capitalizes on Guillen throwing error in seventh inning

Byrnes broke out of a monthlong slump with a homer and two RBIs, Dan Haren pitched seven innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat Detroit 4-3 to hand the slumping Tigers their fifth straight defeat. (NEWSER) - Andruw Jones, Jeff Kent and Gary Bennett homered during a six-run seventh inning, leading Chad Billingsley and the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Milwaukee Brewers 7-2 yesterday. After Jones and Kent hit solo shots, Bennett capped the burst with a three-run homer. Billingsley (3-5) didn't allow a hit until Brewers starter Ben Sheets, a career .078 hitter, singled with two outs in the fifth. More»
