Unlimited data plans are back in style: Verizon, which scrapped its unlimited plans in 2011, is rolling out a new unlimited plan Monday, with data, calls, and texting starting at $80 per month or $45 for each line in a four-line family plan. As with many of today's "unlimited" plans, there are limits: Download rates may be slowed after 22GB a month, Fortune reports, though Verizon says it won't downgrade streaming video quality like competitors including Sprint and T-Mobile. The move makes Verizon the latest company to bring back unlimited data plans, which carriers tried to phase out completely when smartphones became popular, the Verge notes. (More Verizon stories.)
