A mother broke down in tears after recognizing her son in surveillance video of a robbery—then she turned the 12-year-old in to police. WXYZ reports the seventh-grader and two others are suspected of robbing a disabled man who was eating alone. The victim gave each of the suspects a dollar when they asked for money, then police say they tried to take his wallet. Police released surveillance video from the robbery Wednesday, and the unnamed mother recognized her son. She says she handed him over to police on Thursday to hopefully convince him to turn his life around and make better choices. (More parenting stories.)
