A Turkish Airlines recently had someone added to the passenger manifest mid-flight. A woman who was 28 weeks pregnant was on board a flight between the Guinean capital Conarky and Ougadougosu in Burkina Faso when she started having contractions, NBC News reports. She ended up giving birth while laying across a row of seats, as the cabin crew helped to deliver her baby girl. The airline announced the happy event in a series of photos on Twitter Friday.

Mom and baby were taken to a hospital after the flight landed, and both were said to be in good health. "I had to grab the baby," a flight attendant tells the Hurriyet Daily News of the delivery, which took place at 42,000 feet. "I took her and give her to the mother." Turkish Airlines allows pregnant women to fly without a doctor's approval up until the 28th week of pregnancy; after that point, they need a letter from their doctor, and are not allowed to fly after the 36th week of pregnancy.
