What caused Johnny Depp's explosive divorce from Amber Heard? According to the producers of one of Heard's movies, the film's sex scenes played a role. The producers of London Fields, as yet unreleased, are suing Heard for allegedly refusing to promote it. They say she "falsely" claimed that she never agreed to nude scenes in the film, when the truth is that she did agree—then changed her mind because she felt pressured by an "extremely jealous" Depp to do so. "The provocative nature of Heard’s femme fatale role in the film was a factor leading to her divorce from Depp," the suit claims, per Page Six. But Heard, in a countersuit, says the producers actually filmed "pornographic" sex and striptease scenes with a body double and inserted them into the movie despite Heard's contract barring sex scenes.

The Daily Beast notes that the film remains unreleased because it's been "in legal limbo without a distributor for the past year" thanks to a litany of lawsuits. In 2015, the adaptation of a Martin Amis novel was supposed to be one of the big movies at the Toronto International Film Festival, but ultimately the cast and director didn't show up to support it, claiming the producers had cut certain scenes and inserted others (including the sex scenes) in the final cut. "Desperate people say desperate things. The utter failure of London Fields is due to only one reason: the producers themselves," Heard's lawyers say. "No respectable actor would promote this piece of garbage." As for Depp, his rep says the dispute has nothing to do with him and that the producers' statements about him are "ridiculous."
