Andre Ethier went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer, Rafael Furcal and Matt Kemp each hit their first homers of the season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a four-game losing streak with an 11-1 rout of the San Diego Padres last night. Derek Lowe (1-0) allowed a run and four hits over eight innings, striking out six and walking none before giving way to the bullpen.

The right-hander retired 20 of his last 21 batters and also drove in a career-high three runs with a pair of singles to improve his record against the Padres at Dodger Stadium to 4-0. He is 0-3 in seven starts at Petco Park. Chris Young (1-1) threw 80 pitches in three-plus innings, allowing seven runs, seven hits and four walks. (More MLB stories.)
