Job prospects looking a bit gloomy? They might look a lot better after a move to Washington state. According to WalletHub, it's the best state in the country for jobs, based on 24 factors like employment growth, median annual income, and average commute time. The best and worst states for jobs, with a score out of 100 (100 being the most favorable):

Best:

  1. Washington: 70
  2. Colorado: 66
  3. New Hampshire: 65
  4. South Dakota: 64
  5. New Jersey: 63
Worst:
  1. West Virginia: 35
  2. Louisiana: 37
  3. Kentucky: 40
  4. Alabama: 41.5
  5. Mississippi: 43
