(Newser) – There is, apparently, still an enormous market out there for New Kids on the Block. Ticket sales for the late '80s/early '90s boy band's recent 48-show, nine-week Total Package Tour passed $40 million, Billboard reports. That puts the tour, a career retrospective that featured older favorites plus new songs (yes, the band is still putting out new music), second on Billboard's weekly Hot Tours list of the 10 top-grossing summer tours, below U2 in the No. 1 slot. It may have helped that the tour, which wrapped up last month, also featured special guests Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men. (Read more New Kids on the Block stories.)
