Fox News host Eboni Williams says she received so many threats after criticizing President Trump that she had to request extra security from the network. On The Specialists Monday, Williams used her "Eboni's Docket" segment to criticize Trump's initial response to the Charlottesville violence, calling his remarks "cowardly and dangerous" and accusing him of being unwilling to risk alienating the "absolutely racist" portion of his base, Variety reports. Williams says she usually gets 10 to 15 emails after each segment. She says on Monday, there were more than 150—and all but three were "seething, scathing attacks."

Williams say she believes the attacks on her are linked to Trump's "tacit approval" of violent rhetoric. She says she stands by her remarks that Trump needs to reject white nationalist protesters more forcefully. Williams tells the New York Times that she spoke out Monday because she felt the Fox audience deserved to hear different points of view. "I felt utterly compelled in that moment, particularly as a black woman who works on Fox News Channel, and has the privilege and a responsibility to address an audience that otherwise doesn't necessarily get my point of view, or the point of view of people like me," she says.
