Martha Loses 'Loyal Companion'

Gushed-over pet and guest star gone at 12

(Newser) – Martha Stewart's chow Paw Paw, a frequent gushed-over guest on her TV show, has died of renal failure, reports AP. The pooch got his name—Kublai Khan Paw Paw Chow Chow Chow—for his huge paws. "Paw Paw was a spectacular chow and an even more spectacular dog," the queen of domestic arts wrote in her blog. "He was always my loyal companion."

(NEWSER) - Hartsdale Pet Cemetery was perfectly justified in digging up a dead dog whose owner hadn't paid the upkeep fees on his grave, a New York judge ruled today. Man-Hung Lee had spared no expense for her beloved dog, paying $190 for the plot, $500 for his coffin, and $800 for his heart-shaped headstone, the New York Daily News reports.
