"Now I can go back to talking about the Kardashians!" quipped Jimmy Kimmel on his show Monday night after Maine Sen. Susan Collins put what appeared to be the final nail in the coffin of the GOP's latest ObamaCare repeal plan. In an earlier tweet, the host thanked Collins for "putting people ahead of party" and rejecting the Cassidy-Graham plan that he'd repeatedly spoken out against. Over the weekend, Kimmel thanked Sen. John McCain, another Republican holdout, for "being a hero again and again and now AGAIN."

Monday night, Kimmel said "common sense and decency prevailed" when McCain "pulled a Red Wedding on this thing," Mediaite reports. On Collins' decision, he said: "Maine needs affordable health care more than almost any state—you know, the sewers up there are filled with child-eating clowns." Kimmel also mocked Fox & Friends and other conservative outlets that accused him of conspiring with Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer to destroy the health bill, Slate reports. "So my wife and I were worried about health care. We didn't like what the Republicans were doing," he said. "So we decided to have a baby with congenital heart defects. OK?"
