Hall's 2-run Double in 10th Rallies Brewers

Posted Apr 19, 08 5:42 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Bill Hall's two-run double in the 10th inning kept the Milwaukee Brewers perfect in extra innings this season, setting up a 5-3 victory today over the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds have seen quite enough of Hall already. His two-run homer led to a 5-2 win in the series opener. A day later, he sent a pitch from David Weathers (0-2) into right-center to break a 3-all tie.

The Brewers are 4-0 in extra innings. The Reds have now lost 7 of 8 games. Guillermo Mota (1-0) pitched two perfect innings, and Eric Gagne finished off a combined four-hitter for his second save in the series. After a rough start, Gagne has converted his last five chances, leaving him 6-for-8 overall. Ken Griffey Jr. went 0-for-4 with a run-scoring groundout and remains four homers shy of 600.
