Hillary Notches Critical Win in Pennsylvania

Posted Apr 22, 08 8:02 PM CDT in Politics    Most Covered

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton gave her campaign a jolt of life tonight with a decisive win in the Pennsylvania primary, NBC News reports. With 99% of results in, Clinton led 55% to 45%, a margin of victory that gives her campaign enough credibility to remain in the race. "The tide is turning," she told supporters in a victory speech.

Clinton drew especially strong support from women and white blue-collar workers, Politico notes. Despite Pennsylvania's 158 delegates, Clinton almost certainly cannot catch Obama in the delegate race, but her win in another big state strengthens her argument with superdelegates. The focus now turns to May 6 contests in North Carolina and Indiana.
