Stormy Daniels kept people guessing about her alleged affair with President Trump Tuesday—even after a full denial was issued. In a statement, the former porn star said she was denying the affair, not because she "was paid hush money," but "because it never happened." TMZ, however, noted that the signature on the statement was very different to other examples of her signature—and Daniels herself commented on the difference when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live later Tuesday. "Did you sign this letter that was released today?" Kimmel asked. "I don't know, did I?" she replied. "That doesn't look like my signature, does it?" Mediaite reports that when Kimmel kept pressing, Daniels hinted that she could be bound by a non-disclosure agreement.

In the rest of the interview, Daniels—who described the alleged 2006 affair in detail to In Touch magazine in 2011—acted like "someone talking under a pretty elaborate non-disclosure agreement, while still doing her damnedest to be an engaging talk show guest," according to the AV Club. She refused to discuss the alleged affair, even when Kimmel read excerpts from the In Touch interview and tried to communicate using puppets. In a pre-recorded segment, she held up a doll of herself wearing a gag when Kimmel held up a Trump doll. After the interview, her attorney told the Guardian that it was definitely Daniels' signature on the statement, and she was just "having fun on Kimmel and being her normal playful self."
