Emil Brown hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs to help the Oakland Athletics beat Texas 12-6, ending the Rangers' season-best five-game winning streak Sunday. Frank Thomas drove in two runs to give him 1,695 RBIs, tying him with Cal Ripken for 21st all-time, while Mark Ellis had three hits for the A's. More »

The Boston Red Sox got an unexpected power surge from the bottom of their lineup to help Daisuke Matsuzaka remain undefeated with a 5-2 victory over Minnesota on Saturday. Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie hit back-to-back homers to lead off the seventh inning and Matsuzaka (6-0) gave up two runs and six hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings for the Sox. More »

Struggling Mike Lamb lifted the Minnesota Twins past the Boston Red Sox 7-6 last night with a two-run single in the ninth against Jonathan Papelbon, who blew his second consecutive save opportunity. Delmon Young led off the ninth with a single, and advanced on a sacrifice by Matt Tolbert. Adam Everett popped out, Young stole third without a throw, and Carlos Gomez walked and moved up on a steal. Emil Brown singled home the winning run in the 10th inning, and the Oakland Athletics beat the Baltimore Orioles 2-1 last night. With two outs, Daric Barton singled against Jim Johnson (0-1), and Frank Thomas followed with a walk to set up Brown's third hit of the game.
