Buildings rocked back and forth for several seconds in the center of the city this afternoon, but the mayor says no severe damage has yet been reported. No major damage reported

(AP) - A magnitude-6.5 earthquake struck in Mexico's western Guerrero state last night, shaking buildings and causing panic in the nation's capital and the Pacific resort of Acapulco. Officials say at least three people died, but there were no reports of widespread damage. One man was killed when a house's roof collapsed in Iguala, a second died in the small town of Ixcateopan, and the driver of a cargo truck was killed by rocks that fell on the vehicle driving on the toll highway linking Acapulco with Mexico City. No casualties reported yet, epicenter in Oaxaca

(NEWSER) - A 6.5-magnitude quake in southern Mexico early this morning shook buildings as far away as Mexico City. The epicenter of the earthquake, which struck at 2:22 am local time, was 75 miles west-southwest of Oaxaca City. So far, no casualties, injuries or damaged buildings have been reported, but calls to hotels in the Oaxaca region are not being answered. The 6.0-magnitude quake was centered near Chilpancingo, about 130 miles southwest of Mexico City, and 50 miles from the resort of Acapulco, according to the US Geological Survey.
