(newser) – Roger Clemens had a 10-year affair with country star Mindy McCready, beginning when the troubled singer was only 15, the New York Daily News reports. Clemens' lawyer confirmed the two were friends and said, "He has never had a sexual relationship with her." The news could further tarnish Clemens' image and potentially hamstring his defamation lawsuit against trainer Brian McNamee.

"If it's proved that he's a philanderer, his reputation is already damaged," said one of McNamee's lawyers. "All is fair game."
