(Newser) – Eleven minutes of footage showing a man having sex with two women have been packaged into a 45-minute Jimi Hendrix experience by a porn company notorious for releasing tapes of exposed celebrities. Whether it's actually the 1960s guitar hero is contested: Vivid Entertainment relies on private detectives and Hendrix acquaintances—while a girlfriend and a biographer take issue, the New York Times reports.

The footage was discovered in a tin of memorabilia labeled Black Man, and shows only a seconds of what is purported to be the famous face. Said Jimi’s former fling, “He would never have allowed anyone to see that. In private he was very shy.” The porn magnate noted that only a few icons would deserve a posthumous sex tape release—adding that that would include Sinatra and JFK.
