(Newser) – Republican strategists are tuning out Hillary Clinton as they ramp up their attacks on Barack Obama, writes Jonathan Martin in Politico. The national party is increasingly focusing its ads and money on Obama, and John McCain's camp also puts a definite emphasis on him. A new daily email to reporters about McCain's schedule features an "Audacity Watch" but has yet to mention Clinton.
"The math is still clearly in his favor, he leads in fundraising and has the energy in the party behind him. So it makes sense," a GOP strategist says of the concentration on Obama.

Nov 13, 08 3:18 PM CST The Washington rumor mill has spit out an interesting item: Barack Obama may be considering erstwhile archrival Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State, the Post reports. Obama is not pleased with names floated for the position, including Sens. John Kerry and Chuck Hagel and Gov. Bill Richardson. Clinton might salve Democratic wounds, and her foreign policy cred could play well on the world stage. More »
Nov 6, 08 2:07 PM CST As an early backer of Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey may have made the difference in the close primary contest against Hillary Clinton, Jake Tapper writes for ABC’s Nightline. One statistician estimates Winfrey—whose choices for her book club, for example, have an astronomical impact on book sales—delivered between 400,000 and 1.6 million primary votes for Obama. She laid low for the rest of the campaign, but now that he's won, expect a more open role. More »
