(Newser) – A 21-year-old Texas man has been busted for attempting to deposit a $360 billion check, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, stolen from his girlfriend's mother for, he claimed, the purpose of starting his own record label. Suspicious of the sum, the bank called the check’s owner. Arriving police found pot and an unlicensed weapon on the man, rounding out the fraud charge. Bail, fortunately, was more modest: $3,750.

(NEWSER) - And you thought your multiplex overcharged for snacks. Two hot dogs, two sodas, and a tub of popcorn has cost one Texas man 80 years in prison—because he tried to pay for them using a counterfeit $20 bill, reports the Dallas Morning News . The 48-year-old man, who has a history of theft and bank fraud, had an additional $120 in counterfeit bills on him when he was nabbed. Casey Anthony ordered to report to Florida probation office by Friday

(NEWSER) - Casey Anthony was not serving probation while she was in jail awaiting her murder trial and she must report to a probation office in Florida by noon Friday, an appeals court has decided. The court ruled that the 25-year-old cannot "take advantage" of an administrative error to dodge the sentence from a check fraud conviction, CNN reports. Anthony, who has been in hiding since her release from jail last month, will be required to get a job and stay in Orange County, Florida, unless probation officers grant her permission to leave. Ex-Citigroup VP Charged With Embezzling $19.2M

He allegedly stole more than $19M

(NEWSER) - Former Citigroup vice president Gary Foster has been charged with embezzling more than $19 million from the company. Foster, 35, was nabbed yesterday at JFK airport in New York, after arriving on a flight from Bangkok, Reuters reports. Prosecutors say that between May 2009 and December 2010, Foster funneled the money from Citi’s debt-adjustment and income-expense accounts into his personal JPMorgan account, using fake contract and deal numbers to hide the transactions.
