Is Monroe Sex Tape a Hoax?

Posted May 2, 08 3:05 AM CDT in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – FBI officials say their records show no evidence that the agency ever had a Marilyn Monroe sex tape, casting doubt on a memorabilia dealer’s claim that he just sold one, NBC News reports. The dealer says it belonged to the FBI in the 1960s, but he has produced no clear evidence of it and won't name the buyer. Several FBI analysts pored over agency records—notoriously meticulous under Hoover—and found nothing to confirm it.

The dealer, who claimed he brokered the $1.5 million sale of a copy of the tape last month, points to old FBI documents that refer to an alleged sex film featuring the blonde bombshell. But the documents also include a memorandum stating that that the FBI “has no information concerning Marilyn Monroe’s participation in a film as described in the attached communication.”
